Description
This Nice Tits mug is a real bird chart: eight labeled tit species painted on branches with pinecones, blossoms and oak leaves under bold serif lettering. It is printed on both sides, so the joke works in either hand. Choose 11 oz, 11 oz with a black handle, or 15 oz white ceramic, dishwasher and microwave safe and printed in Henniker, New Hampshire.
Are these real bird species? Yes. The blue tit, great tit, coal tit, marsh tit, crested tit, long-tailed tit, willow tit and bearded tit are all real European birds, and most share a family with North American chickadees and titmice.
About the Design
Each bird sits on its own sprig with its name in small hand lettering, laid out like a vintage field guide plate in soft yellows, blues, creams and russet. Fun fact: the bearded tit is not a true tit at all; it is the only member of its own family and is also called the bearded reedling.
