Description

A fitting gift for readers and butterfly collectors, this dark academia art print is made to order in the USA as an aluminum metal print (4x6 to 20x30 in) or archival fine art paper print (4x6 to 24x30 in), suited to home libraries and dark academia studies.

It shows a woman absorbed in a book while butterflies drift around her, elegant rather than childlike, closer to a fine art portrait than a whimsical illustration — a quiet, adult companion to the collection's more playful butterfly pieces. The soft wings hold their delicacy against the warm reading light for years.

Does this print come framed? No. Every print ships unframed. Frames and styling shown in the photos are for display only and are not included.

Why do butterflies pair so naturally with reading imagery? Both suggest transformation and quiet attention, a person absorbed enough in a book to go unnoticed by the world around her, which is exactly the moment a butterfly would choose to land.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our fine art prints are available as Aluminum Metal Prints or Archival Photo Paper Prints, depending on the design and your preferred style.
Our aluminum metal prints are waterproof, weatherproof, and scratch-resistant, making them a great choice for spaces exposed to moisture or sun. Our archival paper prints are intended for indoor display.
Aluminum metal prints are easy to clean with a standard glass cleaner and a soft cloth.
Metal prints arrive ready to hang with Command Strips included. Archival paper prints are delivered unframed so you can choose your own frame and display style.
Choose an aluminum metal print if it will hang outdoors or in a humid space like a bathroom — it's waterproof and scratch-resistant. Choose archival photo paper if it's for indoor display only; paper prints offer a more traditional, matte finish perfect for framing.
Smaller prints (4x6 in to 8x10 in) work well for shelves, desks, or gallery walls, while 16x20 in and larger make a strong statement piece over a sofa, bed, or fireplace. Most designs are available in both square and rectangular sizes.
