Description
This backyard bird coffee mug puts six favorite North American birds between hand-lettered black text that ends Some Are Just Looking for Cool Birds, a birder twist on a famous line about wandering. The design is printed on both sides. Choose 11 oz, 11 oz with a black handle, or 15 oz white ceramic, dishwasher and microwave safe and printed in Henniker, New Hampshire.
Which birds are on the mug? A blue jay, a ruby-throated hummingbird, a northern cardinal, an eastern bluebird, an American robin and an American goldfinch, all painted in full color.
About the Design
The birds sit in a neat row between the lines of text, like a field guide page come to life, with the hummingbird hovering at the top. Fun fact: many ruby-throated hummingbirds cross the Gulf of Mexico nonstop each spring and fall, a flight of roughly 500 miles for a bird that weighs about as much as a penny.
