This Highly Trained Headless Horseman warning sign shows the rider on a rearing horse, jack-o’-lantern raised, above the line “Not Responsible for Missing Heads.” It’s printed directly on rust proof aluminum, so it can hang on a front door, porch post, or fence all through Halloween and fall.

Who is the Headless Horseman? He’s the ghost in Washington Irving’s 1820 story “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” said to be a Hessian soldier who lost his head to a cannonball during the Revolutionary War and now rides at night searching for it. This sign simply puts him on guard duty.

Which size reads best from the street? The 12×18 and 16×24 inch rectangles are easy to read from a sidewalk or driveway. The 9×12 inch fits a front door, and the 6×6 and 8×8 inch squares suit a shelf, mantel, or tiered tray.
