Description
Made for kitchens, pantries and baking nooks, this tightly cropped print — a worn leather belt with a brass buckle, white fur trim, and two gloved hands cradling a stack of powdered sugar cookies — comes as an aluminum metal print (4x6 to 20x30 in) or archival fine art paper print (4x6 to 24x30 in), made to order in the USA. No face, no room, no fireplace; just the one detail that makes the tradition what it is.
The dark, moody background against the warm cookie tones holds its contrast for years, so it works as a striking close-up piece well past December.
Does this print come framed? No. Every print ships unframed. Frames and styling shown in the photos are for display only and are not included.
Why do children leave cookies and milk for Santa? The custom traces to Dutch and Norse midwinter traditions of leaving food for visiting spirits, and took its modern American form during the Great Depression, when families taught children to give something back during hard times.
